Name This Outfit & Win These Floral Jeans!

Update 7/16/12: Congrats Kathryn! Her title…

“The Secret Garden”

…was chosen as the best. Why did we love her title so much? That book was one of our all time favorites growing up. We can’t wait until the Hollywood remake, staring Rachel McAdams & Seth Rogen! We kid. We wish, but we kid.

What do we mean by name this outfit? Well every week we add three new outfits to our Shop By Outfits page. After some quick brainstorming, we writers decide on a phrase that best represents each outfit. We know we’ve got a winner when a suggestion is met with high-fives and self-proclaimed outbursts of self praise. You too can experience the high of being an, “Outfit naming SOB!”

Tips for naming:

  • keep it short (a few words)
  • the clever-er, the better-er
  • song titles/lyrics are cool
  • the quirkier the more attractive
  • making us laugh is always appreciated
  • get inspired by visiting our Shop By Outfits page

Comment below with your titles. Comment as many times as you’d like, with as many titles as you’d like. Or include a list of all your titles in one comment. We don’t care how you do it, just as long as it gets done. Good luck!

Note: A winner will be chosen on Monday, July 16, 2012 @ 6pm (PST). You have until then to comment. Please leave a valid email address. We can’t contact you as a winner if your email is ILoveCats@Potato.com (although that would be an awesome email address). After a winner is chosen, s/he will have until Friday, July 20, 2012 to claim their prize. **International winners will receive store credit in the amount of the prize. Good luck!

Name this Outfit & Win this Crazy Top!

Win These Shoes…By Guessing This Week’s Photoshoot Location!

Update: 4/2/12 Winner Announced…Congrats Angelica Rodriguez! Scroll through the comments to read her correct response.

Lunch breaks here at GoJane are my favorite way to travel. With the use of nothing but my acute olfactory glands, I can enter the break lounge and sniff out the best culinary nibbles our staff has to offer. In mere seconds of standing in the doorway (eyes closed, head tilted back and nose focused on the lunch tables), I decide who my plastic spork and I are going to plop down next to for lunch. Some days I’m craving Thai food, so towards fellow Blogger Ashley and her red curry I go. Other days it’s Mediterranean I’m a hungerin’ for, so it’s Stylist Andie and her shawarma wrap I scurry to. But most of the time the one scent I can’t deny, the one aroma that trumps every other is that of…Accessories Editor Diana and her tamales. I love Mexican food! I’d marry  it and have babies with it if I could. Seriously…I’m totes gaga over the savory, spicy and saucy treats of Mexico. Thankful I live in Los Angeles where there’s a taco stand on every corner? Yes I am! Thankful the model and photographer were down for some carne asada tacos during this week’s editorial shoot? Oh, you betcha!

Hint:

Enter To Win: Can you tell us where in Los Angeles the first picture (location 1) was taken? Yes we know it’s a taco stand, but which one exactly? Time to put on your faux-fur detective hats and start investigating. And to show you we aren’t complete monsters, we even threw in a second photo (location 2) to help you all out a bit. Both locations are near one another. You could even say they’re within a taco’s throw away from each other.

Comment on this blog post with the name and address of this LA eatery. All correct answers will be put into a randomized drawing and one person will win the cut-out wood platform heels pictured on the model below…

*Note: International winners will receive store credit in the amount of the shoes. The winner will be contacted via email on Monday, April 2, 2012. You have until then to keep guessing. Good luck!

Rainbow Bright: An Inspiration Gallery of Neon

Girls living on the West Coast have known since January that spring is coming, but alas, those of you who don’t live in the sunny states are battling snow storms and chilly temperatures. But, we have a fun and fashionable way to cheer you up and brighten up even the most dreary of days. Ready for it? Really? Okay, we’ll spill: it’s neon. So, take a look at our picture gallery to get inspiration and oh yeah, make sure to tell (and show) us how YOU wear neon.

What was your absolute favorite image? Do you wear neon or is it one of those trends you’re unsure about?

PS: If you are afraid of looking like a highlighter might we offer a suggestion? Pair a small neon piece, such as shoes or a clutch, with neutrals. You’ll get plenty of pop, but the look won’t be overwhelming. And if even this is too bold? We like the idea of painting your nails in a bright shade, slicking on a bold lip, or adding a wash of color with eyeshadow.
