It’s A Shoe-In: Block Heels

❤️ By Jenn Shin

Let’s face it – not a lot of people voluntarily wear stilettos to a late morning brunch. But block heels? We’re so sold. They’re, dare we say it, “sensible” yet stylish and suitable for the office, date night, and everything in between. For our feet’s sake we’re hoping this trend sticks around for a long time. Check out some of our faves below…

Fringe Fabulous

Fringe may have once been associated with your favorite Western, but we love to wear these heels with denim cut-offs and a cool cropped tank for the perfect boho-inspired look. As an added bonus, these are comfy enough for any festival!

Laced The Test

If you combine two of Spring’s biggest trends (lace-up everything and chunky heels), you’ll find yourself wearing covetable shoes that everyone will lust after. Pair them with cropped jeans and an off-the-shoulder top for a cool vibe borrowed from Brigitte Bardot.

Buckle Up

Buckle yourself into these babies for a chic upgrade from your gladiator sandals. They have just the right amount of height which makes them versatile enough for a fun daytrip, running errands, or a casual date night in your favorite shift dress.

Ladies In The Streets: Our Fave #OOTDs From NYFW

New York Fashion Week kicked off last Thursday, and we gotta say… We’re experiencing some pretty intense #FOMO around these parts. It’s not every day that fashionistas from all over the world come together to peep the upcoming styles and trends, and in their sartorial best, no less. And, sure, maybe our front row tickets to DVF’s show got lost in the mail (whatever), but it still would have been nice to walk through the streets of NYC with the fashion’s elite. Siiiiigh. Okay, okay, at least we get to couch it and eat ice cream directly out of the tub as we watch the shows via the Interwebz, are we right?! So, instead of mourning about what could have been, we guess we could channel our insane jealousy energy into a post that benefits us all.

Ahead, we’ve rounded up our favorite NYFW street style looks thus far. Loads of #OOTD inspo ahead, ladies. (And some eye candy, too!) Ready, set, swoon!

Ready to get your shop on, Janes? Take that fashion game of yours to new heights (literally) during our heels sale @ GoJane!

More or Less: Spiked Platforms

Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but we like to think of heels as our soul sole sisters. And that’s why our stomach was filled with butterflies when we spied a pair of towering platforms with an ankle strap, metal spikes, and metal accents. The only issue? The $800 price tag. Fortunately, GoJane has a nearly identical version for $37.40. Go ahead and take a look at the shoes below and let us know which one is from GoJane and which one is designer.

Which shoe do you think is from GoJane?

Get Your Kicks: Heel-less Platforms to Make You Swoon

We don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’re kind of obsessed with shoes, especially ones that may cause straight males and less fashion savvy friends to incredulously ask, “Are you seriously going to wear that out?” Our latest batch of shoes will definitely inspire a few questions, as well as a lot of envy. Take a sneak peek at some of these bad boys and let us know what you think. By the way, these shoes should be on GoJane (under the New Styles section) soon. some of these shoes are already on the site!

What do you think? Are you a fan?

PS: Get the sneaker wedges here and the printed sneaker wedges here.

More or Less: Cap Toe Pumps

Designers have been showing a ton of cap toe pumps this season, and we’re loving the look, but we aren’t fans of the price. For example, the designer version pictured below is $645. Conversely, our version will set you back a modest $17.60. Take a look and let us know which pair of pumps you think is from GoJane.

The black and red pair is from GoJane whereas the other pair costs nearly $1,000. To get our version click here.

What did you think? Anything you’re in love with?

PS: As always, all these goodies should be on the site soon.

Sneak Peek: New Shoes

Chances are you’ve seen some of your favorite celebrities, including Kristen Stewart, Beyoncé, and Demi Lovato, strutting their stuff in clear cap toe stilettos. Today, between sips of soy lattes and styling models, we spied several brightly hued pairs of clear cap toe heels and we may or may not have begun hyperventilating (hint: we totally did). By the way, we think you’ll begin getting all sorts of excited too, once you see ’em. So, take a look and make sure to let us know what you think.

These stilettos should be on the site within the next few days, but until then, feel free to satisfy your shoe lust with some of our other fresh kicks.

GoJane Featured on “Today”… Three Different Times!

This morning, between sips of tepid coffee and the exchange of weekend plans, we saw a pair of GoJane heels flash across the screen. Shaking our head we told ourselves that the early hour was messing with our sight, but then we saw something that we couldn’t possibly attribute to sleep deprivation: our name in flashing lights colorful and bold print on Today. Yes, a pair of our wedges had sashayed onto national television, but that wasn’t our sole brush with fame. Why? ‘Cause yet another ensemble featured our shoes.  Yes, in less than five minutes, America had thrice been exposed to GoJane. And we know that after seeing such fabulous footwear you probably wanna get your pedicured paws on them right now and who are we to deprive you of such pleasures?

The first pair we saw were on the editor of Life & Style. We recognized the flash of teal and coral because several of our stylists and writers own these very sexy cut-out suede peep toe pumps. In fact, these shoes appeared to be so popular with the Today crew that they were featured again in one of the outfits.

The second pair was a pair of wedge espadrilles that everyone has been salivating over.

So, in summation, GoJane is all sorts of famous and we have the approval of one of our fave glossies when it comes to fashionable footwear.

What was your favorite pair?

Street Style Stalker: What Are Fashionistas’ Hottest Shoes?

Confession: we love shoes. Okay, we know that such an admission isn’t exactly breaking news, but the fact remains that we kinda sorta have an obsession with all things footwear. But, we also know you adore shoes as much as we do and as such, we don’t feel terrible about our shoe hoarding tendencies. Oh, and something else we forgot to mention: we sometimes indulge in some light stalking. Fortunately, our stalking is all for style, hence today’s post. Specifically, we clicked and searched and saved until we found all sorts of fashionable ladies, celebs and peons alike, who sported some seriously stylish shoes. So, take a look, get inspired, and make sure to show us how you rock your most fashionable kicks.

What was your favorite pair of shoes?

PS: One of our stylists kind offered us a few words of wisdom when she observed, “Chunky heel booties are huge for spring and will continue to be really popular for this year and into next.” Then, in a fit of general awesomeness, she quickly pulled three booties she thinks you’ll like. Thoughts?

Our Five Fave Shoes for Spring 2012

Every month we’re bombarded with declarations telling us what we need for the upcoming season. We find ourselves stressing over locating the perfect pair of flared trousers or scoring the semi-sheer printed shirt of our dreams. But, we often forget that there’s one super duper easy way to upgrade your outfit: shoes. So, for your enjoyment our stylist found the five pairs of shoes we know you’ll love for Spring 2012.

1. american flag lace-up bootie
Why you’ll love ’em:
These booties are flying off the shelves because they’re quirky, cute, and insanely comfortable. Plus, despite the seemingly wild print, they’re incredibly versatile.

2. polka dot bow accented heel

Why you’ll love ’em: The silhouette of this platform shoe is undeniably classic, but the print is fun and flirty. Additionally,  doesn’t the bow just feel like spring?

3. studded wedge

Why we love ’em: Wedge sandals are great for the warmer months, but some options can leave you feeling kinda bored. That’s why we’re loving these spiked wedges with metallic accents- the trim is modern and the spikes are completely on trend.

4. linen finish skimmer flat

Why we love ’em: A slightly unfinished vibe makes these flats so perfect for spring. We especially like the idea of pairing them with a flirty floral frock and if the weather is a little chilly, add a denim jacket.

5. zigzag toe sandal

Why we love ’em: Toe sandals happen to be a staple for spring, much like wedges, but you may find yourself uninspired by most options. However, that won’t be a problem with these tribal printed sandals because the pattern is funky and function as a way to dress up even the most boring of footwear.

How to: Wear Heels and Shorts Without Looking Trashy

Gorgeous gal, Taylor, recently asked, “What would be the cutest way to wear pumps without looking too trashy while wearing shorts?” and as soon as we saw her query we knew we had to write about it. We’ve assembled a few awesome looks that we hope will give you guys some great ideas. By the way, if you have any suggestions or ideas let us know and you could see it here!

1. cropped blazer
2. graphic crystal skull top
3. distressed five pocket denim shorts
4. quilted leatherette clutch
5. suede cutout booties

Why it works:
You’ll get plenty of lift as a result of the heels, but the addition of a cropped jacket and quilted clutch are refined touches that show you didn’t just slip on stilettos and shorts without a moment’s hesitation.

1. sheer chiffon wide sleeve top
2. rhinestone medallion ring
3. velvet pump
4. high waisted polka dot shorts

Why this works:
The colorblocking element demonstrates that some extra thought went into this cute and simple combo. Plus, by keeping relatively covered up top, it’s totally okay for you to show your gams.

1. glitter knit sweater
2. lace overlay shorts
3. sequin collar chiffon tank
4. double buckle leopard print platform

Why this works:
Tights provide some extra coverage (and warmth!), so you don’t have to worry that you’re showing too much skin. Plus, a sequin tank is glitzy and elegant, as are the lace shorts.

By the way, we thought this question was so cool that we’re gonna do a second post on it in the very near future. If you have any ideas or wanna submit your own looks just let us know!

Bored of the Little Black Dress Epidemic?

Dear Jane: What’s a Fashionable Alternative to the LBD?

Finding the perfect LBD, or little black dress, can be a challenge, but it may not be quite as difficult as finding a fashionable alternative to the LBD. Why? Because you’re still seeking something eternally stylish and versatile, but with the addition of color. Check out our selection below for a very easy update to the classic LBD. We’re offering the same simple dress, but we put together a look for the day and the evening because we wanted to show you just how flexible a non-traditionally hued dress can be.

1. button cuff bootie
2. shirred sleeve dress
3. animal print cuff blazer
4. shield mask ring
1. embellished bead necklace set
layered chain-link rhinestone ring
shirred sleeve dress
velvet pump

But, let’s say that you want something a lil’ bit more sassy and less expected. The solution? Find a frock that is a relatively simple print. Moreover, this isn’t the time to experiment with asymmetrical necklines, differentiating hem lengths, or adornment. We’ve included one of our favorite prints below styled in dramatically different ways to show you that yes, leopard can function as a neutral.

1. sequin cuff sleeve blazer
2. strapless leopard print dress
3. leatherette cuff buckle strap boot
4. yoga pants
5. stone inset cross necklace set
1. strapless leopard print dress
2. rhinestone medallion ring
3. quilted leatherette clutch
4. magnetic snake necklace
5. scalloped lace bow pump
