Under Wraps: DIY Chocolate Pretzel Mummies

❤ By Hannah Blu

Nothing brings out our insatiable sweet tooth quite like the coming of All Hallow’s Eve. With just days to go until trick-or-treat, we’re currently salivating at the thought of candy apples, candy corn, and Halloween candies galore. Our favorite sugary goody for a spook-tastic snack? DIY chocolate-covered mummy pretzels!

These salty-sweet treats are perfect for a last-minute Halloween party or office potluck. They take mere minutes to make with minimal ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry! Just follow our simple steps for a festive recipe that’ll make it super easy to ~wrap up~ your haunted holiday party prep.

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Pretzel rods
  • Wax paper or a silicone baking pad

What You’ll Do:

Step 1: Melt white chocolate chips in a double boiler according to package instructions (we used a Pyrex bowl over 2 inches of hot but not quite boiling water).

Step 2: Remove melted chocolate from double boiler and allow to cool slightly. Dip pretzel rod into melted chocolate and tap excess off on the side of the bowl. Lay chocolate-dipped pretzels onto a wax-paper-lined baking sheet to set.

Step 3: Spoon excess chocolate into a Ziploc bag and snip one corner to create a piping tool. Drizzle chocolate onto each rod in zigzag formations.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1 and 2 with dark chocolate chips. Spoon melted chocolate into a separate Ziploc bag, snip a small piece from the corner, then squeeze tiny dots onto the rods for eyes. Allow mummies to set, then refrigerate or enjoy immediately!
