NYFW 2013: On the Streets

The world would be a perfect place if we could all head to New York Fashion Week every year, right? Sadly, that doesn’t always happen. So we take in every moment of street style and runway shows via our favorite bloggers and news sites. And we have to say, we’re loving all the trends we’ve been spotting this week. Bold jewelry, cropped tops, embellishments, and structured bags? Yes, please.

Luxe for Less: Kate Bosworth

The gorgeous Kate Bosworth has been on our style radar since she surfed the beaches of Hawaii in Blue Crush back in 2002. Her style is incredibly eclectic, but she always manages to look effortlessly chic. She recently attended a Hugo Boss fashion show in Berlin and wore a sleek black dress from the collection. She paired the LBD with some pointy toe pumps and a clutch in the same hue. Since we are loving the monochromatic trend right now, we had to recreate her look. The monochromatic trend can be a bit challenging, so we love the idea of trying it out in an easy shade, like black! While Kate’s outfit will likely drain your wallet empty and then some, our look will only set you back $89.90. Doesn’t get much more affordable than that!

What do you think of Kate Bosworth’s monochromatic outfit? Is it a trend you’ll try out?

Runway to Real Way: How to Rock Prints Like They Do On the Catwalk

Sometimes the runway reveals trends so outrageous we collectively shake our heads in disbelief and go about our day while muttering darkly about the state of fashion. Well, until a year later when we’re sporting the look we previously mocked, but significantly toned down (Alexander McQueen bumsters, anyone?). So, when we saw designers sending glamazons parading down the catwalk with printed pants, shirts, and shoes we knew that this year would be the year of mixing prints. But, seeing it on the runway doesn’t mean we know how to translate it in real life… until now. One of our lovely stylists pulled together three looks that she thinks you’ll love. Make sure to tell us what you think in the comments!
